Safety lamp, Eloin type

Safety lamp, Wolf, Eloin type, maker: Friemann and Wolf, Zwickau, 1897-1904.

This embodies the improvements on the original pattern (No. 127) patented between 1892 and 1897 by Mr. C. H. Wolf. The lamp is on the Eloin principle, air for combustion being introduced through shielded gauze below the flame. The magnetic lock is retained and the detonators are ignited by friction instead of percussion. The bonnet or shield is corrugated and in addition is slit in the corrugations to break up air currents more effectually.
