"Ceag" miner's electric lamp

"Ceag" miner's electric lamp, 2 volt 1925, less accumulator, by The CEAG Miners' Supply Co. Ltd.

This modern electric lamp is of the pillarless type avoiding deep shadows cast by pillars, and is the modern development of the " Ceag 1912 ",lamp (Inv 1913-691). It gives a fairly even distribution of light throughout a wide angle, and for this reason it is used considerably in British mines. The casing is made of pressed steel, in two parts, the upper which carries the bulb and its protecting glass cover, being connected with the lower by a bayonet joint. The accumulator is held in the lower half. A polished metal reflector is mounted on the bridle carrying the suspending hook, and is capable of rotation into any position, or the whole bridle may be swung out of the way of the light so as to give an all - round illumination very suitable for roof inspection.
