In April 1997 a writ was served against Kimberley-Clark Ltd for producing a Kleenex brand of quilted toilet tissue using Penrose tiling. David Bradley, the director of Pentaplex Ltd, a company set up to develop products based on Sir Roger’s work, said: ‘When it comes to the population of Great Britain being invited by a multi-national to wipe their bottoms on the work of a Knight of the Realm without his permission then a last stand must be made!’
