Latitudinal subfossil Irish bog oak sample, retrieved from Garry Bog, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, dated 1274-1104 BCE. Used for tree ring analysis by Dave Brown at the University of Belfast, 1998; narrow rings showing major climatic event, possibly the eruption of Hekla 3 on Iceland.
