Objective lens by John Reeves
Objective lens of 2¼ inch aperture I wooden mount, made by John Reeves, Long Acre, London, 1657-1689.
This lens is one of two, the other was made by Edward Scarlett, which were presented by George Dollond to the Hartwell Museum, Hartwell House near Aylesbury in December 1859. They are thought to have once belonged to Sir Samuel Bentham.
