One of two old object glasses of 2 1/4-inch aperture in wood mount by Edward Scarlet, 1705-1743. Presented by George Dollond to the Hartwell Museum, Hartwell House near Aylesbury in December 1859. Thought once to be the property of Sir Samuel Bentham [1757-1831] .
