Poster, British Railways (Eastern Region), Norfolk, Nelson, by Lance Cattermole, about 1960. Coloured lithograph depicting Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson on the deck of a warship engaged in a battle at sea. Nelson is dressed in his naval uniform complete with decorations, holding a telescope in his left hand, with the redundant right sleeve pinned to his coat. Behind him sailors man the guns as a warship approaches. Probably intended to represent the scene on board HMS Victory at the Battle of Trafalgar, 21st October 1805. Signed by the artist at top right. Text below, reads "Nelson - Born Burnham Rectory 1758 (nearest station Wells-Next-The-Sea). See Britain by Train. British Railways totem logo at bottom left. Printed by Waterlow & Sons Ltd, London & Dunstable. Format: double royal. Dimensions: 40 x 25 inches, 1016 x 635mm.
