Sectioned Singer lock stitch electric sewing machine, No.201K, on stand, 1936. Simanco, a subsidiary of Singer, were one of the first companies to initiate the development of electric sewing machine. At the time that they started this work, few machines were electric because not every home had an electric supply. This machine (model no 201K) had gear drive rotary mechanism and reverse feed, and has been sectioned.
