Brass pillar framed (straight bars) sextant with wooden handle, by Troughton and Simms, London, England, 1826-1870. Consists of four filter shades, tangent and clamping screws on the rear of the index arm, scale magnifier on swivel arm and threaded bracket for viewing telescope.
