Notice, Improper use of the Telegraph, re. station staff supplying race details over telegraph. Issued by A Christison, General Passenger Superintendent, York, North Eastern Railway, 1st June 1875. According to the notice stations were often called up for the purpose of being asked whether they can name the winner and in future the sender would be required to pay the rate of a postal telegram, no less than one shilling.
