Poster, British Railways North Eastern Region, To Loco Spotters, 1953. Coloured lithograph in blue text on a white ground advising trainspotters to follow safe practices when on station platforms. The text is accompanied by a cartoon illustration of two boys on a station platform watching an A4 locomotive pass with a passenger train. The text includes the words "British Railways welcome your interest and enthusiasm for railway matters. Our engines are proud to have their speeds, numbers and wheel arrangements recorded in your notebooks. You have heard of the Highway Code. Here is our spotters' code". The notice then advises on appropriate conduct and warns that trainspotters who infringe the code will not be allowed on the platforms. Text at the bottom reads "Published by the Railway Executive (N.E. Region), 1/53, Printed in Great Britain, Jowett & Sowry Ltd., Leeds 1. Format double royal.
