Steel wood-working compass plane, No. 76, by Sargent & Co., Newhaven, United States, 1925. Adjustment for the plane curve design first introduced in 1876. The hinged bars at the toe and heel are actuated by a large screw on the front of the stock, working through a system of levers and toothed segments so that both ends are regulated by the movement of one screw.
