Sectioned 'Little Giant' pneumatic hammer No. 2, by the International Pneumatic Tool Co., Chippenham, 1902
This sectioned hammer was patented in Great Britain in 1899 by H J Kimmans of Chicago. It is made entirely of steel and has a hollow handle through which compressed air from a flexible pipe is introducted, which can be controlled b ythe thumb of the operator.
With compressed air at 70-100 lb., per square inch, the normal speed is 2000 blows per minute.
