A fibre-cone peg leg for left above knee amputee. Designed by Major Lightfoot during the 1914-18 War. Note the very wide thick suspension strap. This is an army belt which the patient must have fitted sometime after wearing the pylon. N.B. these were normally jointed at the knee. This one has had the outer steel replaced by a non-jointed one. (Weight: 8.25 lbs 3.7 kg).
