Prosthesis for a 6 year old girl with a short left thigh (femur). Lace-up soft leather bootee socket, connected by jointed side steels to a blocked leather thigh corset. Wooden foot with felt forefoot, rigid ankle. Robust knee joints, fitted with back-stops to prevent hyperextension of the knee. Rigid ankle but a toe joint has been incorporated. N.B. Subsequently the girl had a Syme's amputation and was fitted with a conventional prosthesis. Made by Hanger in 1954. (Weight: 1.75 lbs 0.79 kg).
