Left above elbow prosthesis with leather socket and fibre forearm
- Made:
- circa 1910
Left above elbow prosthesis with leather socket and fibre forearm. An automatic double elbow lock. This is released by a strong thick leather pull-cord which enters the socket to be attached to the lock levers. Active flexion is then permitted. Wooden hand with fully opposed mechanical thumb (cable operated). Thumb and index tips should each have a rubber disc on them but the disc is missing from the index. The hand is secured by means of the diamond-shaped screw on the side of the wrist. When loosened the hand may be rotated manually or completely removed. Made by Corley of Dallas, c.1910. (Weight: 3.25lbs. 1.2 kg).
