A whole plate folding daguerreotype camera, by Charles Chevalier, with convertable lens system, part inscribed "Photographe a Verres combines invente par Charles Chevalier Ingenieur Optician Breuete Palais Royal 163 Paris" in fitted wood case; focussing screen, dark slide plate holder and iodine box with ground glass cover. Introduced 1840.
