Codd's bottle for aerated liquids, in which a glass marble is kept pressed against a rubber ring in the bottle neck by the pressure of the water, and is released by the accompanying wooden opener forcing down the marble, first patented by Hiram Codd of London in 1870 (pat no 3070 ), 1870-1920
