William Hyde-Wollaston reputedly used these models in an 1813 lecture to the Royal Society. Wollaston used the crystal models to illustrate his crystallography ideas. In 1831, J. Frederic Daniell – first Professor of Chemistry at Kings, College London – used the molecular and crystal model ‘Wollaston Collection’, to illustrate Wollaston’s views.
