Five photo prints on one mount, labelled, of the Newcomen Winding and Pumping Engine built 1810 for Farme Colliery, Rutherglen
This engine was erected in 1810 at Farme Colliery, Rutherglen, by Mr. John McIntyre; the castings for it were made at Camlachie Foundry, three miles distant. The engine continued in service until 1915 when, on deepening the shaft, it made way for a horizontal winding engine. The old engine was presented to Glasgow Corporation to be re-erected at Kelvingrove Museum.
