Three photographs of Trevithick Type Boiler and Engine of about 1803-4, in one frame, 1890.

This engine, believed to have been made in 1803-4, was found among some scrap at Hereford and was restored by Francis Webb, engineer with the London & North Western Railway. It is of the same type as the preceding (Inv. 1881-57), but, being complete, the general arrangement can be more readily grasped. It survives in the Science Museum's collection as inv. 1926-110. The crankshaft extends below the boiler, and is driven by two return connecting rods from the crosshead.
