Coloured drawing of twin cylinder engine with triangular connecting rod:- High and low condensing mill engine, 500 h.p., 30" and 45" diam. x 54" stroke, framed and glazed in Museum, Scale 1:24.

This compact form of engine was re-invented by Mr. Bernays, who gave it to the Museum, in 1874 with a simple and efficient valve gear, but built only to a limited extent; it has, however, since been used for both stationary and marine engines.
