Model, scale 1:12, of horizontal tandem compound condensing engine, c. 1910

This model represents a very common type of compound condensing mill engine having the two cylinders arranged in line and the piston-rods driving a single overhung crank. The cylinders are mounted on one bedplate, and the front cylinder is connected with the main crankshaft bearing by a girder frame in which the bored crosshead guides are formed. The shaft carries a grooved fly-wheel; a crank disc is fixed to its front end and its rear end is supported on a separate pedestal bearing.
