Turret lock-nut, Conrade Tilston's & Masson's patent 1908, and turned bolt, example 1" diam.

This is a specimen, I in. diam., of an improved form of the "castle" lock nut, patented by Messrs. J. S. Conradi, E. Tilston, and P. W. Masson in 1908. The nut has a cylindrical extension which has six radial holes drilled in it, while the end of the bolt has one or two slots cut across it. A split pin passed through the holes and slot prevents the nut from turning. The thread is removed from the upper part of the nut as far down as the bottom of the slots.
