Watt's Steam Engine indicator of very late form, with accessories in box.

This indicator was used to determine the action of steam within an engine's cylinder, and was a diagnostic tool intended to help set valves to introduce and exhaust steam from the cylinder as efficiently as possible. The indicator closely resembles inv. 1890-83, but is of later construction.
