Calf implant, silicone elastomer filled with silicone gel, by Nagor Limited, United Kingdom, 1996 (see note).

Calf implants, like this example made from silicone, are inserted under the skin, usually as part of reconstructive surgery to repair damage caused by injuries or infections.

However, calf implants have recently become very fashionable in cosmetic surgery. As with any surgery, there are always risks such as infection and the results may not last for very long. This implant was made by Nagor Ltd, a company specialising in designing and making implants.
