Selection of plastic toy tools, fixings and carpentry demonstration pieces, unsigned, made in China, 1990-2000. This set was one of a range of toys used within research examining biological and social factors that shape children's toy preferences, conducted by City University (London), Dept. of Psychology and Behavioural Neuroendocrinology Research Centre, c.2000. Consisting of: (1) four nuts and bolts; (2) one combined ring and open-ended spanner; (3) one pair of 'Multigrips Pliers' ; (4) one 'Adjustable Wrench' (spanner); (5) one 'Pipe Wrench' (Stillsons) wrench; (6) one 'T-Driver' (T-bar) and extension piece; (7) one screwdriver with detachable cross-head (pozidrive) and flat bit pieces; (8) one 'Snapcutter' knife; (9) one claw-hammer; (10) one 'Sack Saw' (hacksaw); (11) one 'Wood Plane' (smoothing plane); (12) one 'Variable Calliper' (dial measuring calliper); (13) one 'Lever' (spirit-level); (14) one 'Solid Square' (set square); (15) two dowl jigs; (16) one carrying bucket.
