This is an architect's model of Vauxhall Cross on London's South Bank. It was designed by Terry Farrell & Partners and completed in 1993. The building uses concrete cladding and glass to create a distinctive effect reminiscent of 1930s architecture. Vauxhall Cross subsequently became famous for reasons which have little to do with the design. The 'government department' that it was built to house turned out to be MI6, Britain's Secret Intelligence Service in charge of overseas espionage.
