Miniature Bild Lilli doll (unclothed), made of all-rigid plastic and jointed limbs. 1955.

Based on a cartoon in the Bild magazine, the Bild Lilli doll was an early fashion doll, produced and sold in Germany between 1955 and 1964. It was the inspiration for Mattel's Barbie doll, after Ruth Handler acquired a Bild Lilli in Hamburg. Mattel later acquired the rights to Bild Lilli.

The Bild Lilli came in two sizes, a small and a large. This is the small version.
