A vial of botulism toxin, marketed as BoTox, made by Allergan Pharmaceuticals (Allergan Botox Ltd), Westport, Ireland and supplied by Allergan Limited, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England, 1998. The toxin is used therapeutically for muscle contraction disorders such as writer's cramp. It is also alleged to have anti-wrinkle properties for use in cosmetic surgery.
