Loading shovel, hydraulic, type 530, by Bray Construction Machinery of Tetbury (ca.1953)

This hydraulic loading shovel by Bray Construction Machinery dates from 1953. It was made using a Fordson skid unit with a shovel attachment. Bray often manufactured construction machinery by modifying Fordson skid units - which were the engine, gearbox and axle unit of a stripped down tractor. Bray are believed to have produced Europe’s first hydraulic loading shovel in 1949.
