Stuffed mouse bred to allow temporally and spatially inducible knockout. A gene important for skin formation and hair growth has been knocked out in the adult animal by administering Tamoxifen. Technique perfected by Prof Pierre Chambon of IGBMC (Institut Genetique et de Biologie Moleculaire et Cellulaire) and published in Nature, October 5th 2000.
