Coarse plane diffraction grating for infrared radiation, 254 x 254 mm, ruled on a metal plate attached to an aluminium block, marked 'MADE BY RRE MALVERN' [Royal Radar Establishment Malvern] and '.008" PITCH 25º BLAZE ANGLE' on two edges of the block, glued into a hinged wooden case with a plastic name plate on top.
