Mechanical Powers Apparatus consisting of an inclined plane and endless screw, complete with original mahogany case, made by George Adams, Fleet Street, London, 1775-1800.

This apparatus forms a pair with object number 1927-1189. Together they allow the lecturer to demonstrate all of the mechanical powers. This was a popular form of mechanical demonstration in natural philosophy lectures in the period. The apparatus was made by George Adams the Younger.
