Black-lacquered sextant with brass frame and scale limb, bakelite handle in fitted wooden box, unsigned but thought to be made by Carl Plath, Hamburg, Germany, 1943-1945. Consists of polished 125° scale (-5° to 125°), 1° divisions with white plastic drum micrometer measuring to 30”, four filter shades (all grey). Sextant marked with eagle and swastika while the case has a locking mechanism to secure the instrument along with a certificate of examination by the Kriegsmarine (German navy) dated November 1944.
