Bubble sextant made by Carl Plath, Hamburg, Germany, about 1940. Signed on a plate on the left side of the casing: C. Plath. Marked on the same plate: Libellen-Oktant | mit Mittlungseinrichtung | Gerat - Nr. 127-134 B-2 | Werk - Nr. 73317 | Anforderz. Fl 23750 | Hersteller: C. Plath. Scale from 0° to 80° every 1°. Vernier to 1'. Casing of grey- and black-lacquered aluminium and artificial materials, housing optical equipment, a clockwork averaging mechanism, and electrical equipment. Two index shades (red and green). The telescope is missing. In a rectangular fitted dark green-lacquered aluminium carrying case containing two reflecting flats, a light for fitting in the sextant with a wire to connect the the vessels main, a spare light bulb (2,5 volt; three other bulbs are missing), and a brush. Various parts are missing. The inside of the lid contains printed instructions, and a list of contents.
