Bubble sextant made by Henry Hughes and Son Ltd., London, about 1946. Marked on the left side of the casing: Bubble Sextant | MK XII N° 17 | H. Hughes & Son Ltd | London | Brit. Pat 480112 490621 | and foreign patents. Scale from 0° to 80° every 1°. Vernier to 1'. Black crackle-lacquered alloy casing incorporating artificial materials, housing optical equipment, a clockwork averaging mechanism, and electrical equipment; two wooden handles. Three shades (all grey/green). Two spare lamp bulbs and some unidentified parts are missing. In a fitted wooden box painted green, with a leather strap.
