Twelve photographs of the Sun on single mount.

Sir Norman Lockyer first began to assemble astronomical instruments in South Kensington in the 1870s. The Solar Physics Observatory was established in 1875 under Lockyer's oversight, eventually being relocated to Cambridge in 1911.
