Mahogany framed sextant with brass index arm and scale, wooden handle, with two inlaid ivory maker plates on the crosspiece, by Peter Dollond, London, 1785-1795. Consists of 131° polished scale (-3° to 150°) with 20’ divisions and brass vernier, three filter shades (two red, one green). Fitted with threaded telescope bracket for telescope (125 mm, object glass missing) with a shaded eyepiece and scale magnifier (singe lens) on a 40 mm swivelling arm.
