Chinese Cord-Pivot Bazaar Steelyard, 19th century, with 21" lancewood beam (round section) ; 6 1/4" diam. brass scale pan with cord supports and brass goods' hook; sliding counterpoise of iron with cord sling, and double fulcrum (Roman type). Beam carries 2 sets of graduations marked by small headless brass pins (but no figures) to show:- On side of beam, zero to 25 Taels, by increments of 1 Mace using fulcrum furthest from scale pan. On top of beam, 10 Taels to 55 Taels, by increments of 2 Mace using fulcrum nearest to scale pan
