Standard Cubic Inch measure, brass, 1889, for the determination of the weight of a cubic inch of distilled water. 1 1/4" x 1 1/8" on tripod stand and square base, (base 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" high)

Measuring device made in 1889 for the determination of the weight of one cubic inch of distilled water. To protect the shape and hence size of the standard measure, it is fitted with a square plug with handling knob that fills its volume when not in use.
