Persian accountant's official scales and weights for gold and silver, 19th cent. in wooden case with lock (19 1/2"x12 1/2"x3 1/2") ornamented in red and gold, containing:- 2 steel equal arm balances, fork and knife-edge fulcrums, and ring pivots for cord pan supports:- sensitivity 0.2 (a) 10 1/2" beam and 4 1/2" brass pans; 0.2 (b) 5 3/4" beam and 2 1/2" brass pans; (c) adjustable steel support for balances.
