





Fitted box of Persian scales and weights, 18th century, containing:- 2 pairs of steel-beam equal-arm balances, 5 7/8" and 3 1/2" with brass pans suspended by red silk cords; gallows suspension with knife-edge fulcrum, and set of 7 small engraved steel weights, octagonal shaped with knob handles. Case painted in lid, in crimson and gold floral design. Size 7 1/2"x4 1/2"x1 1/2" with spring catch to lid.
