Rubery Owen tilt trailer, 1966

This tilt trailer was specifically designed to carry the International Drott BTD6 crawler loader. It had a horizontal hinge which allowed the trailer to be tipped and the Drott to be driven on. The trailer returned to the horizontal automatically with the weight of the machine, allowing operation by only one person.

The trailer greatly simplified the transport of the Drott which would have previously been transported on low-loader transport requiring a number of operatives.

This trailer was used by John Bentley Plant Hire, which was based in Essex.
