Timber thickness measuring rule, scale: 0"-6".

The rapid measurement of timber, particularly at ports of entry , is a specialart and methods were devised to simplify measurement and avoid unnecassary calculations so as to permit expedious handling of timber in all it's forms. This gauge was for measuring the thickness of planks and read 0 to 6" in 1/4" increments.
