This model was marketed to higher-modern schools or technical colleges and contains a large range of lines including trigonometric and logarithms of logarithms. As well as being used as calculating tools in schools, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s, slide rules were used to teach mathematical understanding. It was thought they gave a physical understanding of the property of logarithms and the logarithmic scale.
