Mathematical surface model, plaster, to illustrate the torsion of a prism having ridges

Plaster model to illustrate the torsion of a prism having ridges. This is one of a set of mathematical models made by Charles Delagrave for the Special Loan exhibition of 1876 held in South Kensington. All the models illustrate applied mechanics and were used at the Royal College of Science in the late 19th Century.
