Cyclograph in fitted mahogany box, by W & S Jones, London, England, 1791-1859
This attractive instrument was used to draw circles or arcs of circles of any size. The horizontal wheels are adjusted to give the required angle between the two outermost rollers, which dictates the radius. Simply pushing the instrument causes the pen, situated between the rollers, to describe a circle.
