Early linear dividing engine, incomplete
Early linear dividing machine, incomplete. This machine divided a linear scale by copying from a standard. The standard was placed on the same moveable carriage as the blank, and microscopes above would ensure accurate alignment of the two. Both microscopes and support for the scribing point that marked the blank are missing.
