This acoustic demonstrating device is made of a set of six swinging chimes, one made of wood and the others of steel. Each chime is suspended and attached to the others by string. It is played by striking the chimes with an ivory-headed wood hammer. This device was originally intended to be used for demonstrations of acoustic resonance in relation to the material, shape, and length of the rods.
